Katwa Kigen was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1996. , practices law at Katwa and Kemboy Advocates in Nairobi. He holds a Master in Laws and Bachelor of Laws LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Nairobi and a diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law. • Successfully represented Jacque Maribe, a Journalist in a murder case that resulted in her acquittal due to lack of prosecution evidence. The matter had national interest.

• Represented former Cabinet Secretary, Treasury, Henry Rotich in an anticorruption case and cleared in the Sh63 billion Arror and Kimwarer graft case.

• Acted pro bono, for victim families in a criminal prosecution against serving police officers accused of having murdered a lawyer, the client and taxi driver. The incident raised national and international outrage.
